Afterclock
A downloadable game for Windows
Bank time. Rewind death.
Afterclock is a twin-stick survivors-like arena shooter. Swarms pour in from every side. You fire automatically, at the nearest enemy or wherever you aim, and you dash through the gaps, hoover up XP and pick one of three upgrades every level from a pool of 49.
Death isn't the end while you have time banked. The clock runs back five seconds, and the five seconds you lost replay beside you as an echo of your ship, still firing. Elites, treasure drones and bosses pay into your time bank. Run it dry, and the next death is the last.
The arena is a watch face. Every boss you beat sinks it one layer deeper into the clock: the dial, the gearworks, the pendulum hall, the orrery, the hourglass. All of it runs on the run's own time, so it stops when you pause and runs backwards when you rewind.
